about selene

From my beginnings in a small village near Lake Como, Italy, to summers exploring Greece, I grew up with a passion for travel.

With a strong desire to explore new destinations and cultures, my professional journey began at Italy’s most prestigious (and oldest) hospitality school, further strengthening my knowledge of the industry. This provided me with numerous opportunities to work in various countries and cities, always looking for the next challenge. From Como to Sardinia, the United Kingdom to Atlanta, and Milan to New York, my global experience has only amplified my dedication to hospitality.

I relocated to the Big Apple in 2015 to work for one of the world's most prestigious hotels, assisting with the hotel's re-launch following an extensive renovation. This opportunity allowed me to truly connect and develop one of the strongest travel industry markets in the world.

Working and living in New York was a lifelong dream. Always an aficionado of art and design, the city allowed me to rediscover a side of myself that had been hidden for so long. After many years of working for city hotels, I took on a new challenge in 2019 by joining the team of a beautiful resort on a private island in the Maldives, with the intention to bring the destination and resort into the US market with great results. My relocation to Southern California in 2020 further allowed me to develop exposure and build rapport with the West Coast market, a large and important feeder market for many international destinations.

As I discovered the Maldives, I got more interested in sustainability. Curiosity led to a profound love of the environment and sustainable tourism. Since then, I've changed how I engage with mother nature and make decisions in my daily life, which has influenced my professional approach as well.

terra was born from this desire to combine my three greatest passions: travel, design, and sustainability.
